THERE'S A HOT NEW RADIO TALK SHOW IN
TOWN
Grounds 4 Discussion
With
Host-Carol Williams
Carol
Williams is an award winning
journalist and writer whose work can
be found in numerous publications.
Ms. Williams' work can also be found
in a book entitled
Celling
America's Soul, a
montage of stories written by
prisoners and their supporters. The
book creates a virtual visit behind
the walls of the nation's penal
system.
In
2001 Carol was elected by the Metro
News as one of ten Black women in
Philadelphia
to admire. Others on the list
included Pearl Bailey, Patti LaBelle
and Roxanne Jones. Williams was
chosen for breaking racial barriers
in the pressroom of the sport of ice
hockey.
This
former Black Panther says that she
joined the Party to perform social
services in the community. She was
essential in establishing several
free food, clothing and medical
clinics in the community.
Her
community service continued beyond
the Panthers when, after studying at
the Manna Bible Institute, Williams
was ordained as an Evangelist in the
Deliverance Evangelical faith.
Williams earned a double Bachelor's
Degree in Human Welfare and
Education from
Temple
University.
She is also certified in Community
Law by the Philadelphia Bar
Association.
Before the turnover of Channel 48 to
Christian television, Ms. Williams
was invited as a guest on 48
Update, a television show hosted by
Catherine Pugh as a result of the
impact of her human interest
articles.
Williams has received several awards
from prisoners for her speaking
engagements behind the walls. She
brings a message of peace and hope.
She was also awarded by the staff of
Graterford
State
correctional facility.
Carol
Williams is the founder of the
People's Coalition For Justice and
Humanity (www.justiceandhumanity.com),
a grassroots effort to spread
information about the worldwide
human condition and help people to
reconnect with their humanity.
The
move to radio came when Williams
realized that there had to be a
platform for community members to
discuss, explore and discover
solutions to problems facing them.
The main focus of the Grounds 4
Discussion is to provide a platform
for the community to learn and grow.
The show also offers the opportunity
to bring individuals to the table
who can effect change.
Grounds 4 Discussion is a link and a
platform for public discussion and
education.
Former guests on the show include:
